Date Night

I think this might have been our first date out for dinner in a very long time, just the 2 of us....besides our anniversary nordic day at the spa! It was actually by fluke because we were planning on attending an Ethiopian Community fundraiser dinner, but seeing as there were too many people and the risk with COVID, we decided to just donate the money and then go out for dinner. It worked out because there was this new restaurant that I had been wanting to go to since the summer and I finally got the chance. Believe it or not, I actually don't even know the name, but the food was good and we enjoyed each other's company. Besides the fact that we were busy and distracted by looking for a new car to purchase since our Ford broke down! But we did enjoy the night out! Radney and Selam were babysitting for us and put the kids to sleep by the time we got home.

 

Mommy and Ellu - Junkyard Symphony

This was our first concert ever together and so we made it an outing for mommy and Ellu time. I was excited because it was at the NAC and my first time taking Ellu there! We had front row seats and we enjoyed the show, even if it was only 30 min long!

Afterwards, Eliakim, known for taking a liking to the drum since he was a child, decided to make his own drums using plastic and pots and pans we had in the house.

New Years Eve 2021

This year, for Christmas, we spent it at Grandma and Granpa's house. We had a sleepover with Selam and Radney there as well and Ori. We spend 2 nights there and for New Year's eve, we had Grandma and Papa come over to our house for dinner. Selam and Radney went to Montreal and Zee and Titi didn't come this year for Christmas due to Covid restrictions. We had a really nice roasted chicken, stuffing, mash potatoes dinner and a nice kale salad! Apple pie for dessert. 

To take advantage of the free bus service for December, I decided to take the kids for one last bus and train ride of the year! As always, they were thrilled and we had a good time!

So this is a gem in Ottawa and especially the day we reserved to go, since Eliakim has recently been super hyped about everything golf, we were the only ones there so it was really nice to have the place all to ourselves. Ellu loved playing mini-golf and getting his ball in the hole. He practically zoomed by each range, and we finished all 18 holes in less than 30 min! I definitely will be bringing him back soon!

 

Me and My Girl

I love this girl to pieces! I praise God for giving us Elkanah! She is so sweet, fiesty, kind, loving, smart, heart-warming....I can go on and on. May the Lord bless you and keep you, make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. AMEN!
